“Crime doesn’t care if you are a Democrat, Republican, Independent or even Undecided. Crime has no barriers!”
Former Senator Max Cleland has publicly announced his endorsement of Candidate Floyd Scott, for Gwinnett County Sheriff. To have his endorsement is an honor from such a distinguished Senator with the same background; “To Protect and Serve.”
Meet Lt. Floyd Scott. If someone wanted to create a more perfect candidate for Sheriff they couldn’t. His background reads like a checklist of what Gwinnett County citizens would want in their next Sheriff. He has dedicated his entire life to public service. For 20 years he helped keep our country safe by serving in the U.S. Army. His career spans over two decades within law enforcement. First as a Gwinnett County Police Officer, then onto Park Police and Investigations. He was part of the original Gwinnett Sheriff SWAT Team twenty-three years ago. Recently he retired from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office after a long, honorable tenure. And this is just the beginning of his credentials.
With his tall stature, one could see Floyd as an imposing figure. Which isn’t a bad thing if you’re in law enforcement. However, beyond the tough exterior, there’s a firm but fair man who is dedicated to the Constitution. His demeanor seems to naturally bring a sense of order and calm to any room.
Candidate Floyd Scott would be the first to tell you that he’s a family man first. He not only wants to make Gwinnett a safer place for his family, but he also wants to make it a safer place for all families. His campaign platform is “Rebuilding Relationships
Together.” He knows firsthand how the local police and community relationship has eroded through the years. There’s a mutual distrust between the two parties. The growing diversity within Gwinnett County must have someone to represent the direction this county needs. He is that person to chart the way through his seasoned leadership.
Candidate Floyd Scott is obviously an advocate for enforcing the laws of the land. But he believes law enforcement can be done with dignity and respect for Gwinnett citizens without dehumanizing anyone. Terminating 287(g) Program (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement 287 (g) Program) is one way to bring citizens and those pursuing citizenship safety.
Candidate Floyd Scott has said, “I’ve been enforcing the law for over 40 years. However, I believe you can uphold the law without abusing your authority.” He sincerely wants all people to win. His philosophy is; if he wins, we all can win... together.
Here’s another quote from Candidate Floyd Scott: “Crime doesn’t care if you are a Democrat, Republican, Independent or even Undecided. Crime has no barriers!” Just as Sen. Cleland concluded, Candidate Floyd Scott understands just what Gwinnett County needs from its next Sheriff. I believe that this is only the beginning of widespread support for the perfect candidate, for such a perfect time as this.
